Gloria Septien-
Ms. Septien's career started at a very young age as she was one of the most sought after models in the country. However, her angst to use her creativity in other ways led her to join the radio industry and quickly climbed the corporate ladder. Ms. Septien was so successful that at 21, she became the youngest radio station General Manager in the country! Her career continued to flourish and she managed several radio and television stations while at the same time was the owner of a very successful advertising agency, Septien and Associates, Inc., and a concert promoting company, GP Promotions. Her agency specialized in writing, producing, directing, and at times was the talent in many radio and TV projects. While her promoting firm staged some of the largest shows in the country with major Latin and American acts. The true culmination of her career was when she took ownership of her very own radio station and newspaper. This was a major accomplishment because according to the FCC, she became one of only a handful of women in the United States that owned a radio station at the time! One of the great highlights of her life came in 2001. During Women's History Month the United States Congress recognized Ms. Septien by bestowing upon her the award Woman of Courage and Vision! She received this tremendous honor not only for her professional accomplishments but because of her philanthropic work as well, especially all she has done for the homeless, a cause that is near and dear to her heart.
